Vascular Flora of Nevada

Description
Nevada has long lacked a field-usable technical resource for identifying plants across the state. This reality first came into focus throughout a floristic inventory of a poorly known area of the state near the borders of the Mojave, Great Basin, and Colorado Plateau: the Clover Mountains. I first summarize current results of this inventory, which is beginning to coalesce into a final checklist, and which has turned up dozens of surprising new occurrence records. Numerous county records will be newly reported, both new to Lincoln and deriving from the Clovers, as well as new occurrences of taxa outside of Lincoln. I then report on the development of a new field-usable resource towards species identification across Nevada, which is ca. 80% complete. Numerous contributors are involved in this new Vascular Flora of Nevada, and I will solicit a few remaining treatments of diverse and (traditionally) difficult taxa (e.g., Astragalus and Phacelia). Many other new mountain range records have also been uncovered over the course of a plethora of field expeditions made while preparing the manuscript, and these will also be briefly touched upon.
