Description
Grindelia ciliata (Asteraceae: Astereae) is a an annual composite native to disturbed grasslands in the southern Great Plains.  Like other members of the genus Grindelia, it produces relatively large quantities of diterpene resins.  Unlike other members of the genus, it keeps the resins inside the leaves instead of excreting them and thus lacks the characteristic stickiness that gives the other members of the genus the common name of gumplant.  The draft genome consists of 2,365 scaffolds with a total length of 846 Mb, an n50 of 26 Mb, and an n90 of 10.25 Mb.
