Description
Increased genomic sampling and sequencing continues to identify past whole genome or major chromosomal duplication events throughout the history of angiosperms. While questions remain in regards to the correspondence of these events and shifts in diversification, there is evidence that these events have played a role in the evolution of innovation, whether morphological or ecological. In this talk, I will discuss patterns of life history, morphology, and ecology and how they intersect with genome duplication incidents within major angiosperm lineages including the Ericales and Caryophyllales.
